On 28 Sep 1836 went out of business as an insilvent debtor.
At the time of the 1851 census Thomas and Mary were living in Connaught Street, St George Hanover Square, which was on the
edge of Mayfair; Thomas recorded as a foreman saddler. In 1861 they lived at 4 Carrington Street, St George Hanover, London.
Thomas was described as a journeyman saddler. By 1871 Thomas was living with his son, Thomas and his family, so Mary had
obviously died between 1861 and 1871.
Thomas had fallen on hard times by 1872, being admitted destitute into the Chelsea Workhouse on 6 July. He was discharged by
his own request on 21 September of the same year. Workhouse records for the following years have not survived, but Thomas was
readmitted soon afterwards, dying on 3 Dec 1874 of "senile decay" at the Chelsea Workhouse Infirmary.
